Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Kolkatta (Calcutta)

Reception and welcome at Kolkatta( Calcutta) international airport followed by transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02 Kolkatta

Spend a leisurely morning in the hotel. The afternoon is dedicated to visit Victoria Memorial, Kolkatta’s most imposing and monumental dream in marble opened by the Prince of Wales in 1921 and often called the "Taj" of the British Raj, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Indian Museum, the largest in India, with one of the best collections of Indian art. Overnight is at the hotel.

Day 03 Kolkatta - Guwahati

Fly to Guwahati in the morning. In the afternoon take country boat upto Umananda Temple, situated on world’s smallest river island known as ‘Peacock Island’. Enjoy sound and light show in the evening. Overnight is at the hotel.

Day 04 Guwahati –Tezpur

Explore the city in the morning after breakfast and visit Kamakhya temple, important pilgrimage destination for Hindu and Tantic worshipers. Next we stop to visit Hayagrib Madhab Temple at Hajo. Drive to Tezpur in the afternoon.

Day 05 Tezpur - Kaziranga

In the morning visit the 12th century Jagannath temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus. We visit the temple from library roof terrace as non hindus are not allowed inside temple complex. Next we tour Raghurajpur village – considered as heritage craft village of the state. Almost every house in the village has an artist engaged in various activities like engraving on palm leaves, creating stone idols, wooden idols etc. Return to the hotel for overnight in the evening. Later drive to Kaziranga National Park. A world Heritage Site, it is home to more than 75% of the world’s population of the great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros. In the afternoon visit the Kaziranga National Park in jeeps. Overnight stay at the Resort. Note : The park remains open from 1st week of Nov to end April only.

Day 06 Kaziranga

Spend the day with nature. Take elephant and jeep safaris into the park to see the rare and great one-horned rhinoceros. Overnight is at the hotel.

Day 07 Kaziranaga – Majuli - Jorhat

After breakfast drive to Neematighat for ferry crossing (2hrs upstream boat cruise- the time depends upon the water level of the river) to Majuli, the largest inhabited river island in the world and famous for the Vaishnavite monasteries. Visit the monasteries and interact with the tribes living on the island. Later return to the mainland and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 08 Jorhat – Sivasagar -Dibrugarh

Leave early morning for Dibrugarh with a stopover at Sivasagar en route. Visit the 13th Century Ahom Monuments, the Siva Temple, believed to be the second highest Hindu temple in India, Rang Ghar, the largest and the oldest ampi-theatre of Asia and the Tai- Ahom Museum containing relics of the Ahom period like swords, clothes, manuscripts and sundry artifacts. Enjoy the Bhiu dance performance in the evening in your bungalow lawns.

Day 09 Dibrugarh – Taj Phakial Village - Dibrugarh

Take a tea plantation tour after breakfast. Later we explore the Tai Phakial village; an ethnic village whose kith and kin date back to the Ahom period. On our return we stop to visit the Bell’s Temple, where one can see thousands and thousands of bells of different sizes hung around the tree. Overnight is at the Bungalow. (Please note that there is no tea plucking between December and mid March and hence the actual manufacturing process of tea cannot be demonstrated when one visits the factory during this period. Factory also remains closed on Monday’s of the week.)

Day 10 Dibrugarh –Wakro

After breakfast, drive to Wakro en route visit Empong Village to see the Khampti tribe who are believed to be the descendants of the Tai Ahoms They are deeply influenced by buddhist ethics and morality. Overnight at Hotel in Wakro(traditional Mishmi huts).

Day 11 Wakro

After breakfast, visit the local Mishmi tribal villages and interact with the Mishmi tribe. Also visit Parasuramkund, a pilgrimage site where thousands of pilgrims come every year. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 12 Wakro - Roing

After breakfast, drive to Roing in the Debang valley of Arunachal Pradesh crossing the Lohit River at Digaru.In the afternoon visit local Idu Mishmi tribal village. Overnight at Camp (tented accommodation with attached toilet, but without running water. Water will be provided in buckets).

Day 13 Roing

After early morning breakfast, drive to Mayodia Pass. It is a unique pass situated at an altitude of 7000 ft amidst lofty hills, lush green forests and breathtaking landscapes. Later return to Roing and visit the local village. Overnight stay at Camp.

Day 14 Roing - Dibrugarh

After breakfast drive back to Dibrugarh including ferry crossing. Afternoon is at leisure. Alternatively visit the local market, temple and a weaving centre to see the traditional looms and the weaving of silk famous all over the world. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 15 Dibrugarh - Calcutta

After breakfast, our office representative will escort you to airport for your flight to Calcutta. Arrive Calcutta, Meet & assistance by our office representative and transfer to International airport for your flight to onward destination.
